Combine images for comparisons, listings and shared updates
A side-by-side image is useful for a before-and-after comparison, two product views or a pair of related screenshots. A vertical stack can combine instructions, messages or several cropped screenshots into one image. A grid works well for product collections, progress updates and photo contact sheets.
Move each source photo earlier or later to control where it appears. In a grid, images fill from left to right, then continue on the next row. A partial final row leaves the unused space in the chosen background colour or transparent when that option is enabled.
Understand crop and fit before exporting
Grid cells can be square, portrait 3:4 or landscape 4:3. Fill cells scales an image to cover its cell and crops excess edges from the centre. Keep the whole photo shows every edge and leaves background space where the photo’s shape differs from the cell.
Vertical stacks use a consistent image width while preserving each source’s aspect ratio. Horizontal strips use a consistent image height. Neither mode needs to stretch a picture out of shape. Gaps and outer padding are measured in pixels at the requested output width.
The tool is a layout combiner. It does not automatically align overlapping panoramas, remove backgrounds or blend seams between photographs. For a tilted photograph of a paper document, use the Document Scanner instead.
Choose PNG or JPG for the finished collage
PNG is useful for screenshots, text, sharp graphics and transparency. JPG is often smaller for photographic collages, but uses lossy compression. In JPG output, the selected background colour fills transparent parts of the layout.
Source photos are decoded, resized to their layout cells and rendered into a new image. Their hidden camera or GPS metadata is not copied. Resizing can change fine detail; a low-resolution source does not gain real detail when it is enlarged.
The preview is scaled for quick display. Download creates the full requested output where the browser’s canvas limits permit it. Very tall or large layouts are reduced to fit those limits, and the download filename includes the actual resulting dimensions. Choose a grid when a vertical stack would become excessively long.
Prepare the result for its destination
Check the destination’s required aspect ratio before building the layout. This combiner sets the output width and calculates height from the composition; it does not promise a particular social platform’s current size rules. Use Resize Image afterwards when you need exact pixel dimensions.
For an upload size limit, run the combined result through Compress Image. If you need a document containing separate pages rather than one combined picture, JPG to PDF is a better fit.
